Hi,

At the top & bottom of the screen there is a 5mm gap between the screen window and the physical screen plastic. That's OK.

At the left & right of the screen there is a 35mm gap between the screen window and the physical screen plastic. That's annoying.

I have seen touchsmart's in shops and the left/right border gap is not there.

It's an IQ810 running Geforce 9600M GS 1920 x 1200 at 60Hz on a Generic PNP monitor.

I tried the Scroll Lock five times fix that has been posted.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

That border is actually a plastic mask and not part of the LCD. If you measure from the top right corner to the lower levt corner, your diagonal measurement on the 800 series is 25.5 - the size the screeen is supposed to be.
There is speculation tht the "mask" is to accomodate larger LCD's in the future but as far as I know, that is only speculation.

So, it IS NOT a defect in your screen or video card. In fact, I think it is mentioned in the manual and HP FAQ's about the "screen border".

Hope that helps some.

What does the visible part of the screen measure. Should be 647.7 mm from corner to diagonal corner. If it is that means what you are seeing is by design.
