Found this in a Google search:

"igfxsrvc.exe is a process associated with Intel(R) Common User Interface from Intel Corporation. It is installed with graphic card drivers with Intel chipsets. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated."

Sounds like you'll need to keep this file around. I'm guessing that if you're in the middle of more graphics intensive tasks, the CPU usage of this process would most likely go up significantly.

Can any other TS owners out there verify they see this process on their machines as well? Is anyone else experiencing similar CPU usage from this process?

Kenny, which touchsmart computer do you have? I didn't think any of them had Intel integrated graphics chipsets in them - rather they had discrete video adapters.

You're correct... none of them, to my knowledge, have Intel integrated graphics chipsets. At least not the newer models - they all have NVidia chipsets. Glad you pointed this out.

That being said, I don't know enough about this process to know whether it is intended to run on computers with Intel chipsets in general, regardless of the GPU, or if it's only designed to run on computers with integrated Intel chipsets.

Kenny, another thing you should do is run a virus check. You can use AVG Free or another trusted tool to do this. There's always a chance it could be a virus masquerading as a genuine process, and the only way to verify this is with a full virus check.

Let us know how it goes, and what model unit you have as well.

The 504 series has integrated graphics. To check without opening the unit: If you look through the grille opening at the top towards the back of the unit, you'll see two copper cooling elements on systems with discrete graphics. On systems with integrated graphics, there's only one copper cooling element.
