That happened to me week before last.
Long story short, motherboard failure.
I am replying to this on my NEW replacement IQ526T.

Sorry for your loss.

How can that be?  The computer was working just fine right before I did the system restore.  How long did it take for HP to send out the replacement?

Thanks.

It took right at a week. Funny thing is that I was trying to make recovery discs for my TouchSmart when it happened to me. I am now ordering a set of recovery discs.
I do not know how old your system is, but you need to get with HP asap.
My system was only a week old when it went belly up, hence the replace option. You may not have that option if yours is very much older.

Hope this helps.

Pete

BTW

If your system was working just fine, why were you trying to restore it?

Just curious.

That is too funny.  It happened to me the same way.  I made the recovery disk and did the system restore.  I wonder if there is a glitch in the HP.  I just wanted to have a new system becuase my kids install limewire on the system.  I spoke to Hp and they are sending a box out to me to ship the system back.  Thanks for the information.  I wonder if anyone else have the same problem.  I should never have made the recovery disk!

Trust me. It wasn't very funny at the time! I can laugh about it now though.

I wanted HP to send me a calculator so I could sacrifice it to the Computer Gods and perhaps stop my run of bad luck with computer technology. Since I didn't get the calculator, I take NO responsibilty for what happens.
