Looks like HP posted a BIOS update on Feb 25th, 2009 for the IQ 800 series.  I've not done it yet but was wondering if anyone else has.

Input?  Thoughts?  Improvements?

Heres a link to it on HP's site: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-68611-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=2100&product=3809131

Some info from HP's site about it:

Description: IMISR-CF Motherboard BIOS update resolves several issues with booting, and updates the Hardware Diagnostic Tools software program.
Enhancements:
  • Resolves an issue with the display brightness level decreasing automatically after a system restart.
  • Updates Hardware Diagnostic Tools to v1.2.4880.02
  • Updates fan curve for processor support.
  • Resolves an issue with resuming from sleep mode.

This BIOS update applies to the IQ5xx series as well.  I'll apply it tonight.  I notice there are several other updates too like a Seagate firmware update and the HP TouchSmart as well.

Description: Seagate SATA Hard Disk Drive Firmware update resolves an issue where the hard disk drive may become inoperable after a power-on.
    Enhancements:
  • Resolves an issue where the hard disk drive may become inoperable after a power-on.
  • Resolves an issue where performance may be degraded for a period of time after heavy disk usage.
  • Updates ST3500620AS, ST3750630AS, and ST31000340AS hard disk drives to firmware version HP26.
  • Updates ST3320813AS hard disk drive to firmware version HP2A.

Ok, so I wont be doing the upgrades... The updaters will only update from Vista, they don't recognize Windows7 as meeting the update requirements. Guess I'll be waiting till HP supports W7 because I am NOT going back to Vista, I like W7 even in beta too much.

Same here...I have a new BIOS splash screen. :-)
