Hello,

We are waiting on a Touchsmart to be delivered and are excited to use it in our small photography studio. We do portraiture of mainly high school seniors who love gadgets so we thought the touchsmart would be prerfect for this.

However we know that the photo application in the touchsmart suite is not going to do the trick for us. For two reasons. 1 Is that we would like for the mini window to disappear and also because of the folder issues that have been raised in other parts of this forum.

Basically we would like something that would work like Cool Iris but as a stand alone program. With some other little tweaks here and there.

I am wondering if anyone has any leads about how we may be able to do this?

Have you looked at the CoolIris developer information (http://developer.cooliris.com/)? It sounds like you don't want to start from scratch, so you could also take one of the Microsoft WPF photo app samples and modify it. What else have you looked at so far? Do you have experience developing software?

Geek Tie,

Thanks so much for the quick response.

I agree we dont want to start from scratch at all, just tweak what already exists.

CoolIris would be super cool however I cant figure out how to make it work as a standalone application. Airtight I think is going to be the same way.

I have not looked at the Microsoft stuff yet. I am going to check it out.

I am not a programer at all.

I figure that sharing this idea in a forum like this might be good because the HP photo program seems to get so much criticism. Maybe people would find interest in a more user friendly photo App. From there pool together resources to make it happen.

I see. Unfortunately I don't have the bandwidth to help out. I'm hoping some other folks here may be able to help.
