Which version are you using? 7 or 8? The reason I ask is that I have been having lockup problems with 8 on my touchsmart and my laptop.

Otherwise, try deleting your history. Tools>Internet options>Browsing history>delete (all selections).

Could also be a pkugin gone bad. Tools>manage addons..then try disabling plugins that you think you don't need. You can go back and selectively enable after you hone down if one of them is the cause.

Try doing the cleanup first though and see if that helps. If not try the plugins.

I use IE7 and often get internet ,and other programs with the not responding message. everything work fine then nothing even the task manager has trouble clearing the screen.
