I am still undecided, but I played around with a unit at a local store fo quite some time. My impression is that sensitivety was not a problem. However if you operate "normal" XP Pograms accuracy sometimes made this a bit hard to hit the right button or make menu selections.
Overall I was impressed tough. It was really fun and for a PC used by the whole family this really seems to make sense. I am looking forward to more touchenabled software tough.

I have recently come to know that the response to the touching the screen is not very sensitive and is not also perfect. Which means that I may have to touch several times to get a work done. Is that true? Please share your experience.
Can you give some examples? It works fine for me. I do agree with Berthold that 'normal' programs might be a little hard to use with touch because the buttons are so small. For those, I usually just use the mouse.
Here are a couple of things that you can try to get better performance:
1) Make sure that your screen is clean and free of dust. This is very important and can effect touch performance.
2) Run the hardware diagnostic program. If you go under the main Help and Support menu, there will be help for TouchSmart. You'll find the program under there.
Hope this helps!

I heard it from a member of another forum that it's quite difficult to work with the touch system. However, this might be a rumour. As I am not sure so I wanted to know the opinon of the people who are actually using them like you. Besides, this product has not yet been started selling in India. I am eagerly waiting to get hold of the product.
There is a hidden touchscreen configuration on the Touchsmarts that is much more accurate than the Hp Touchscreen Configuration in the control panel.
Tap the Scroll Lock key 5 times when on the desktop. This will cause the cursor to move to the upper left hand corner. Press hand hold your finger on the cursor's location untill you hear a long beep and release. The cursor will move to the upper right hand corner, repeat previous step. After you have done this in all four corners the cursor will move to the centre of the screen and the touchscreen will be recalibrated, accurately.
I played with the TS at my local store and was very impressed how it responded to my touch - so I bought the BIG one!
I have also come across with one of the Touchsmart IQ 500 series. It's really working great in the HP touchsmart interface, but it's quite difficult to run the vista os with the touch. I found scrolling quite difficult. And the outer side bazel looks quite odd in size. It does not match with the screen. However it's big screen is very beautiful to watch movies. I think with vista, the touchsmart pc is not that much smart. Let's hope for better improvement with Windows 7 in terms of usability.
