how do you install dual boot? I have tried on several occasions on my main rig and never been successful. Any suggestions?
When I tried on my desktop to do the dual boot I would load both OS's and on the load up (after they had both been loaded) my computer would crash (blue screen) and wouldn't work unless I reinstalled the OS I wanted and deleted the second. I had the same thing happen 2x's in a row...took all day to load 4 OS's unsuccessfuly...
Anyone can share experience?
I try SATA driver Dj-Grobe provided but still get blue screen?
I have installed Windows 7 success (dual boot) and it feels lots better than vista.
but still get one unknown device and cannot find the driver ?! any help?
I guess it is the audio volume button because it is the only one not function.

Yeah, I got xp tablet edition to work and windows 7...and also mac os x (only for school of course).
For the audio driver, find the vista one pre installed and then copy it over to windows 7...(vista and 7 cros compatible for now)...For xp, get the tablet edition first, and then go on the srs website, I think srslabs.com...not sure, and download the appropriate driver...should work
And I would also install ubuntu as a virtual system or on another partition...great for quick work
Hi Andy
Did you boot with XP tablet version CD and install without additional driver like SATA driver?
I boot with latest XP SP3 cd but got blue screen and cannot go through install process.
Mine is tx2-1020us.
Thanks for your sharing.
Hello!
My previous computer before my tx2(same--tx2-1020us) was a Gateway CX2724 which apparently has the same sata driver hp used...unusual...so I had an xp tablet edition setup disk from gateway and it ran great on the tx2. So the steps I would take are:
1. get a copy of XP tablet edition 2005
2. get the sata driver from the gateway model above
3. Burn both of them to the same disk...the sata driver in the 108i file
4. (assuming you have a blank partition) run the setup disk :)
The tutorial is great if I wanted to do it on one hard drive but I have 3 in my computer and don't need to create a new partian (or make one smaller). Is the install the exact same minus making the partition since it is already seperated and available? Is it possible to do a 3-way boot between Vista, W7 and Linux if I have 3 hard drives?
thanks
Hello
If all three of the hard drives are internal, then you could do a multiboot installation between the 3, and it is the same, but I would unplug all but one HDD. So when installing hd1's linux, unplug hd2 and 3 just for safety so that you don't write to the wrong drive, but if you are comfortable without doing this, it should work :)
And for a three way boot, if you don't want to go into vista's bootmanager, easyBCD or Grub work great. If you have the time and expertise go for Grub, if you want a quick stable and working multibooter, easyBCD is great.
Hope this helps
so I
1.) install the first OS
2.) download multibooter/easybcd/grub and load on first OS
3.) load second OS using above program
4.) load third OS using above program
is this correct? I have tried to install duel boot without a program (just using the Windows duel boot) and it fails everytime, not sure why... I was trying to load Linux (ubantu) and Vista. I tried two times once with Vista first the second time with Linux first and both failed via blue screen and turning both HD's currupt (needing a fresh install on both HD's).
I feel I should also add that I have plenty of power in my power supply and that is not the problem since I run all my HD's now perfectly fine.
Hey, sorry for the delayed response...school :P
But, yeah, you've pretty much got it :)
Let me know if you need anything else
I was getting ready to try The Windows XP Tablet Edition out on my Tx2 1020us. I saw what Andy said above about the Gateway driver, but I'm confused about the 108i file you're/he's talking about. Where is this file...I'm guessing somewhere in the XP install files? I just want to have all the things together when I format. Thanks for the help.
After burning about 50 failed cds with all the different sata drivers slipstreamed in, I tried andy's and it too didn't work. However searching around based on the device id on my machine, and almost giving up completely, I found the following driver set, which actually worked: ftp://ftp.albatron.com.tw/product/it/mb%5CDriver%5CRAID%5CAMD%5C740G%5CRAID_Disk%5C3.1.1540.81_XP3264.zip
I am really, really unhappy that HP made this so difficult, when they could have just made the correct drivers available on their support site. Once you get XP installed, getting all the other drivers installed is no easy feat either.
Good luck y'all.
Hi Im using Hp TouchSmart tx2 1035ee preloaded with vista home premium when i buy.
Is There any possibilities to install xp without remove existing vista?
only my concern is that tablet pc functions work if i install xp?
Please advice...........
I have the tx2 1020us. Just an update. I installed the 32bit Windows 7 Ultimate on a seperate partition while keeping Visa x64 on the other and the pen and Digitizer work perfect. Everything works fine except for the Quicklaunch buttons. But I am pretty sure they are coming in the next few updates. My buddy's HP laptop has quicklaunch buttons that didn't work, and they just updated it. Now his are working. I did have to unpack a few drivers and let Device Manger search in that file to update a few drivers. Just a little info.

I purchased tx2-1124AU notebook with Vista Home Premium Edition. I am planning to install Microsoft Windows Vista Business (32-bit). I searced WinXp driver for it but didn't find anyone.
I have two queries:
1) Can anyone tell me, the possible problem(s) of installing Vista Business (32-bit) on tx2?
2) I'll be gratefull, if anyone could share XP drivers of this machine?
