In using the notes application, I found the touchscreen to be accurate and easy to use. I imagine it would be the same in using a whiteboarding app, although again I have not done it myself yet :)
The nice thing about "whiteboarding" is that you probably won't be writing with very small letters or in very small spaces, making it easy to write with your finger.
If you wanted to do more elaborate or detailed whiteboarding, the TouchSmart supports stylus use (as stated in the manual.) I think some people might prefer a stylus for this kind of solution right off the bat, but that depends on the user!
EDIT: I'd love to hear from others here who have used online collaboration or whiteboard software first-hand... let us know!
