Not knowing what model you're referring to makes it tough, but on the IQ506 the blue LED in the lower right signifies confirmation of remote control IR signals

IQ506 is what I'm running sorry. Thanks
But Im still confused of what IR singals I'm picking up,I havent even put the battries in my remote and that is the first and the last time I have saw that light.Thanks...

You saw the light because you crashed, it's just that in part of the act of freezing, the unit thought it saw something and illuminated the LED, nothing more complicated then that. You can't predict what a crashing OS thinks is and isn't happening.

A TV remote will set the blue light off every time you use it in front of it so I suppose any other remote device or similar type device with IR signals will set the blue light on for a second or so...

I have my TouchSmart IQ526 temporarily set up in my living room near my recliner and my TV's remote sets it off every time I use it!

If you have a laptop or PDA with an IR port and it is within range of your TS, it is possible that it is sending out a signal that the touchsmart might be picking up.

Does anyone know if the receiver/LED can be disabled? I, too, have my TS in my living room and my main media center is in that room also. I have an IQ504 and don't use media center. The remote causes the TS to do unwanted things. I disabled the driver in Device Manager, but now the LED just stays on all the time. Kind of annoying, but I guess I could learn to live with it if I have to.

A stategically place small square of black electrical tape should do the job.

Not sure if it can be disavled in software.

Even better, use a hole punch to make a round dot of electrical tape ;-)

Yep, that too is a very good idea.
