Which model touchsmart are you talking about?
The quick answer is to go into the audio properties and pull the line in volume slider down a bit.

Woohoo! I won my Touchsmart!
I plug in my Wii to capture gameplay and such but theres one problem, when i plug in sound via line in i can hear sound and it sounds normal, but when recorded and played back, it is way too amplified, please help
P.S. the capturing software is VirtualDub
