Sometimes Media Player doesn't shut down all the way, even though you no longer see a window for it in the taskbar (the process stays running). Take a look with Task Manager (right click on an empty part of the taskbar and select Task Manager) by going to the Processes tab and sorting the list by process name (click the Image Name column). If wmplayer.exe is listed towards the bottom, click on it, then click End Process and confirm that you want to terminate it. Then try playing your wma file again.
Hi,
Hope someone can help. I noticed on both my and my wife's IQ770 Touchsmart that Media Player does not start up when the icon is clicked in the Start menu.
We both have Norton 360 installed as well as Microsoft 2007 and Live Messenger.
I think it probably hasn't been working for some time.
I use Itunes for cataloguing my music collection.
I noticed the problem when I tried to play back the wma file created with windows recorder.
Thanks for the advice. Think the touchsmart is great. The first time I haven't had to trip over all the extra cables, etc in a normal computer setup.

Thank you very much for the idea. I was used to checking processes in Windows 98 but didn't know about Task Manager in Vista.
