I am trying to get touchsmart video to recognize H.264 MKV files.  I know touchsmart can handle the video codec (I renamed a mkv to avi and touchsmart video worked) but I can't get it to see the regular MKV files.  I tried to edit the INI in \program files\hewlett-packard\touchsmart\media\customizations\generic\setting.ini

Any other suggestions?

Vijay

I use GOM Player (free) for watching MKV files.

Thanks for the reply. Will GOM integrate directly into the touchsmart video selection? I can play the MKV files with media center, vlc but I just can't get the touchsmart "video" section to recognize the mkv extension.

No, unfortunately GOM is a standalone program. You can however, create a GOM tile like you would for any other program. If you are not sure how to create tiles, let me know and I'll walk you through it.
