Went to get a TX2 today as i have the TS820 and thought should be nice..
what a shame, the screen is tiny! the rest of the machine looks great, and if
the screen was 17/19 or even 15, i would have parted with the dosh,
i'll wait maybe later? why has nobody pointed this out before.

Well, first off, the TX is a tablet PC and a tablet PC is a tablet first and multimedia PC last or somewhere in between. The screen size is roughly the size of a piece of paper which makes it more suited for pen input and a larger screen would only add more weight which is not desireable for a tablet.
I own a tablet with a 15 inch screen and it sits on my desk all the time. At nearly 6lbs, it was unsueable as a portable.

Its good though that you went to the store to look at it first rather than buying it direcly from HP or a reseller as returning it because it had a small screen would probably be a tough sell with the customer service person. ;-)
