I want to download the touchsmart software. I found a file with the location as follow: http://techport.info/reflib/downloads/Fall_08/HPFall08_touchsm.zip , but I am not a member of the techport-team. When I enter ,  it always ask me to sign , of course I cannot.

I guess it might be the right software, but I can't validate. So I wonder if there is anyone could download the file, or tell me what it is.

Thank you guys. Laughing

You can download the latest version of the TouchSmart software from http://www.hp.com/support

Enter your model number and look in the downloads section.

I'm having this same problem.

I want to flush all the crapware out of my HP IQ816 with a fresh installation of Windows Vista and by individually installing all the software and drivers.

Unfortunately, I can only find an "update" in the downloads section.

I have to admit: HP is making it very culturally unappealing to invest time and effort to learn to program this machine. Marketing bizdev and pointy hair is taking over HP :(

I mean, come on, a full software installer just to view a PDF documentation for TouchSmart? It's all so too bad because the hardware is so great, and the touchscreen can't be bought anywhere else.

The installer for the developer documentation is really just a very small wrapper around the PDF (especially after the recent rewrite). The legal team required that the PDF could not be installed without going through a license agreement. Sorry. That's just the way it is. Pointy haired and all.

The "update" does not require a previous version to be installed as far as I know.
