Hi Bill,
Interesting application you have there. Unfortunately, and don't take this the wrong way, I think it needs further work to be touch friendly. The icons and buttons are simply too small. In a shop environment, I assume things are a little bit faster paced, you'll need large buttons, think 3 or 4 times the sizes you have now. I was having a hard time pressing some of the things in your web page. If people can't use the application that was designed for touch, they will either switch to the mouse and keyboard or not use it at all. It's an interesting concept though and a good example of why you prototype.

Hi there fellow developers .
My company’s develop touch interface management software for the manufacturing industries.
For example
Staff in a shop setting get to walk up to a touch smart and:
- Clock in and Start a task in about 7 seconds
- Start a new task and leave progress report on the previous one in about 8 seconds
I’m just blown away with writing messages with my finger.. just amazing!!
Administrators get to
- drag and drop a team tasks to a daily calendar and choose the right person for the job on the fly. In about 5 seconds
- They can drag a entire stage of jobs to another day, week or month and it alerts them of capacity over load when applicable. 12 seconds
But at some point they admin many items from at work station with multiple displays
I have being building Intranet business management foundations for 11 years and this touch smart is the largest increase in hardware function have seen. No just to fully tie it into the blackberry Storm and the Bold and then we are really cooking.
You can see a bit of the touch use at our main vertical at CabinetMakersOffice.com
Only sort coming I have with touch smart is I am used to showing the active work Kiosk on a 42 inch LC so it can be seen from 45 feet away.. unfortunately I do not think this one will support mulitdisplays. Trust me I have tried.
If you have any development ideas to help me out SPEAK and lets change the world together!!
I’m always expanding the team and building alliances
