I bought both touchs screens in the last month
I started with IQ500 and loved it so much I upgraded to the 800 series as soon as read about it.
So I thought I would share with you the differences to help you pick the right one first round.
First of all I hate having a tower on the floor with so many wires, but I am not your normal personal or business user that lives at his work station 80 hours a week.
My large desk presently holds 6 monitors;
- 3 22 inch monitors 2 are extended
- The hp 500 (this will be going away)
- The hp 800
- and a tablet Kiosk
What I love about the touch screens
- No wires
- Actually luggable
- I watch TV on it all the time, ( 800 works well with TV and windows applications at same time , 500 DOES NOT) the extra 250 RAM in the video card really makes a difference.
- The microphone array removes the need for a head set
- The displays are incredible I JUST had to have the 800 as it is a major “WOW FACTURE” to the friends coming by. Ok so my ego gets stroked LOL
- neither has a multipdisplay capacity as near as I can tell, have tried with 3rd party adapters.
- The 800 screen is big enough to have two pages wide so I guess I live with it without it capaicty to extend to another monitor
- Personally I keep my Skype and messenger on the left and use the full screen for the applications that I am using.
Bottom-line if it will fit on your desk you just have to get the 800, the upgrade of the video card in itself is certainly worth the extra performance and the WOW factor. There is NO CHOICE get the 800.
BTW if you spend the extra 450 dollars on the 800 you will be glued to your monitor for about week straight and that saves you the money you would normal spend on food. LOL
Now I am all set for a catheter and a drip bag of glucose and then I don’t ever have to leave my desk!!
Wife thinks the tv on the Hp is not added value LOL
