I just bought my TX2z a couple of weeks ago.  MediaSmart is not working correctly now.  I've tried uninstalling all of the component, reinstalling, downloading the driver updates and installing them--now when I click on the MediaSmart icon, nothing happens at all.

So I tried to do a System Restore, back to a week ago when it was working.  Now system restore says that it encountered an unexpected error and did not finish sucessfully.

AND...my Internet Icon in the notification tray area has disappeared.

I really don't want to do a system recovery since I have already bought and downloaded new software--anyone else had similar problems and figured out a fix?

MediaSmart is now working on my TX2z. I downloaded ALL of the MediaSmart updated drivers at the HP Driver/Support website and reinstalled them on my computer.

Are you pertaining to the error on this webpage?

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01783707&tmp_track_link=...

Solution on that page as well.
If you are having a problem with the whole mediasmart software, I would recommend a reinstall and update by following Hani's steps on this thread:

These forums and the entire site is for the Touchsmart series of Laptop/Desktops. You have a Pavillion series laptop. Your not looking in the right place =)

We can try to help you out, but you will need to supply us with a little more than "Mediasmart not working"... As you see from the above posts, one issue was related to needing driver updates and software updates in general, the other was specifically the TV application and the user posted detailed information on what was going on, operating system, etc.

What operating system are you running. What did you change that caused the errors to start. When was the last time you updated the mediasmart application and supporting programs and system drivers?
