Hello,

I have an Idea for the touchsmart owners out there. Has anyone seen the Dell Studio One 19 and its Touch Zone software? What about porting it over to other non dell systems? You can download the software from dell's support and driver site. But obviously it does not seem to run on other systems. (Tested on a custom pc, and a TX2.)

I'm holding out hope that all the improvements and fixes HP Touchsmart users have requested in the Touchsmart program suite are going to come in a future update from HP. Also, we don't know if the Touch Zone software is any better. It could be missing even more critical features or be even more unstable.

Balefire, you commented in the other Studio One 19 thread that you just purchased one. Would you be able to fill us in on the Touch Zone software? Does it allow the user the ability to choose which folders are monitored in a music, photo, and/or video application? Does the calendar function allow syncing to multiple calendar programs? Does it allow bi-weekly appointments? Does the computer run slower or crash when the Touch Zone software is running? Are there photo editing capabilities in the photo software? Can you print out notes or have more formatting options, etc?

I really doubt that an update like that would come any time soon without a product refresh. But the Touchzone software would be just an alternative to use. It may not even be better at all (I don't really have much faith in Dell... :P)
Personally I would love a 3rd party open source/Highly customizable alternative that does the same. Plus I like the drumming application on the touch zone.

Hi
Just noticed your comments about Touchzone, I work for the company that built the Touchzone software for Dell and we are in the process of working through releasing some new multi-touch software products later this quarter. Would love to hear about your likes and dislikes about touchzone and what you really want to see in a touch screen experience.

Does anyone know who to download the Touchsmart software with the nice interface? It ran in Vista, but Vista was so slow, i could take it anymore and upgraded.

Also, have not found what will enable the volume buttons on right panel.

Thanks in advance for any suppport!!!

You're in about as wrong a place as you could be since this thread has nothing to do with your issue.

Try looking in the Touchsmart Desktops section, there are plenty of links to what you're looking to do.

But before doing all that, you can go to the support section of HP.com and download everything you need for the DX9000 and Win7 there.
