Hello,
I am french and my English is bad!!!!!!!

I have the IQ515 and for two weeks, the connection wifi in the starting up of the PC is very slow: approximately two minutes to find the wifi network.

Have you an idea to accelerate the connection??

Thank you
Guillaume

I'm using a 802.11g router with a encrytion security (WEP).
When my PC is connecting, i have an excellent signal.
i have my touchsmart since 2 months but i have this connection problem since 2 weeks, before, my connection took about 10 seconds too.
I've done the " Original Ralink Wireless Network Adapter Driver" update and maybe it's the problem?????

Thank you very much for yours answers.

It is possible that people living near you may have ther routers set on the same channel as yours and your touchsmart is trying to connect to the different (and maybe stronger) signals first.

Also, other things that interfere with your woreless signal, such as 2.5gHz cordless phones that are nearby may cause connection problems.

I am American, and my eating habits are bad!
Seriously, that was an excellent disclaimer you gave...
It may also be the same problem your wireless lan card is having with your router. Have you moved the PC or the router in the last 2 weeks? Have you re-booted the router or wireless access point in the last 2 weeks? Sometimes my Belkin Pre-N router needs a restart, even a power down for 5 minutes to clear everything and restarting usually clears up anything it was doing before the reboot of the router. Try it, and let us know if it works.

If it has been 2 weeks since you did the driver upgrade and you have had problems ever since, you might try rolling back the driver, but do a reboot of the router first, and see if the router is more able to recognize your lan card with it's new updated driver AFTER the router is reset.
